Cuttlebug Crafts is Going But…
Hello everyone,
I am very sorry that I have not written for a long while. The truth being, I have started a few other projects, and so I haven’t had the time or inspiration to write on this website. I really hope that you all have benefited from the advice and tips I have shared on Cuttlebug Crafts about Cuttlebugging. I have learnt a lot as well.
The good news is… I will be continuing with my youtube channel. Many of you will have watched my videos which instruct on how to make cards using the Cuttlebug, as well as loads of other ideas. In fact, because I am closing this website down, I will have more time to upload videos onto my channel. I have some background techniques about to be uploaded, as well as a whole series on what you can do with the Cuttlebug, and what you can run through it. When I first received the Cuttlebug that was my biggest question, “What can I do with it, and to what extent can I use it?” I hope that the videos willl anwer your questions regarding the Cuttlebug, and again, don’t be afraid to ask questions on the videos, as I will always answer them.
My youtube channel is: http://www.youtube.com/user/CuttlebugCrafts?feature=mhee
The second project which I have been working on, is my blog. A few of you may know that I run one, and in all truth, that is what has taken up most of my online posting time. We have developed it, and are starting to get a larger amount of visitors and back links. It’s going well, and I would really appreciate it if you went and had a look at Creative Touch. We post mainly about fashion, but we do post on craft occasionally. I think you’ll enjoy it. Most crafters have a great eye for colour and placing, and because of this, I think that fashion and style appeals to them too. Anyway, have a look at my style on my blog, and see what you think!
I have ejoyed my time on here and am very greatful for your encouragement and views, have a look at my youtube channel and my blog and tell me what you think. I love comments!

Basic Cuttlebug Sandwich Guide
Before I answer any of these questions, I want to establish a rule which will not only help in answering these question and particularly the last question, but also guide you on your way to becoming a Cuttlebugging expert.
The rule is: As long as it runs through the Cuttlebug, you’re safe.
Of course, you mustn’t force it through, but if it runs through, it’s okay. I believe this is important to know, because, some people do not realize that you can add to your sandwich. By adding, I mean perhaps a scrap piece of cardstock to add pressure and ultimately create a deeper cut or impression. Or by replacing the C for a B plate and then add a load of cardstock so that the total sandwich is slightly thinner than before.
Here are a few basic sandwiches that you need to know and can print off or flick back to if you are ever unsure.
Running paper through folders:
A plate + B plate + folder with paper inside + B plate.
(Add a few pieces of cardstock to make an even deeper imprint)
Cutting images with thin dies (nestabilities):
A plate + B plate + paper with die facing down + C plate
Cutting images with foam dies:
A plate + B plate + die with paper facing up + B plate
Embossing Nestabilities:
A plate + B plate + paper within die facing up + tan embossing mat + B plate
These are the basic sandwiches. You can run much more through the Cuttlebug than paper, you can run thin plastic. One example of are the sheets that are placed over the clear stamps. You may also run thin metal through. For instance the base of a bought cheesecake from the supermarket. Once embossed, it makes a great base for layering or stylish corners.
Experiment and remember to keep looking back for these guides.
Enjoy!

Have fun, and I recommend buying the fancy corners Cuttlebug folder set, as it is really versatile and fun to use. You can ink, sand and Cuttlebug.
Enjoy your week and have fun, remember to have a look out for number two of my 5 Tips to Make Your Cards Look Fantastic!
5 Tips To Make Your Cuttlebug Cards Look Fantastic
1. Inking Edges: Whenever you make a stamped image or sentiment, sometimes those plain white edges can look really empty and lead your eye off the page. Here is the solution. Choose an ink that matches your card or the same colour you have used to stamp your image, and swipe along the edges to create a distressed looking edge along your paper. This draws the eye in and removes some of the white or plain colour that you may have excess of.
It’s up to you how much you would like to put on, and what colour, sometimes I even put two colours just to make it look more interesting. I have also used this technique for the edge of my card as well, which in essence, does the same thing by drawing your eye into the card. If you are a bit nervous, and don’t want to put too much ink on your card, just run it along the edge of your card or piece of paper so that the card is perpendicular to the ink, this will put a minimal amount of ink onto your card. Continue to slant the ink pad more and more to put more and more ink onto your card. It’s as easy as that! Have fun.
I will be posting some videos on these five tips as well, so keep your eye out for them. Some new videos will be coming your way as I have been playing around with my Cuttlebug and can’t wait to share these new ideas with you.
Hope you enjoy using that tip, it really does make a difference to your cards,
Try it out and have fun making your cards look really fantastic!
Cuttlebugging Transparencies Video
Hi Everybody,
I have already posted the really cool idea of Cuttlebugging transparencies, but in this video, I show you how to create a really cool card using this technique, I also show you some other cool techniques such as inking around the edges of your cards and also inking the raised edges of your Cuttlebug imprint to obtain a really distressed and rustic look. Have fun watching the video and try out the idea yourself!

Note: Using glue to stick your transparency does work, but it is not entirely even, I suggest that you use spray on glue or just glue the edges, have a play around.

Cuttlebug Swiss Dots & Cuttlebugging With Other Dies
Here is a really neat tip, this shows you how to create a very cool background using the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots. All you need to do is watch this video and have a go at it yourself. Please comment and tell me how you liked this technique and perhaps even show me the finished product. It is quick and easy and if you want, instead of individually inking the dots then you could just brush your little square mini ink pad along the raised dots and get an even colour.

So have fun with that technique and tell me how you like it!
Using other dies with your cuttlebug:

Well, there you have it, the Cuttlebug is an invaluable tool, try it out and even make up some of your own ideas. Just spend a day with your Cuttlebug and you will produce wonders. So there you go, not only does the Cuttlebug emboss but it also cuts and not only that, it cuts with other dies. Hope you have enjoyed this post.
